The Lotus Eletre R; Luxury and Speed
The Lotus Eletre R is what happens when Lotus Cars builds a luxury electric missile. It starts around $315k and comes armed with two motors making 675kW and nearly 1,000Nm. That fires this 2.7-tonne SUV to 100km/h in about 2.9 seconds. Which is frankly ridiculous for something this big.
A huge 112kWh battery gives a claimed 450km of range, though real world driving will likely land in the high 300s. The 800-volt system can charge at up to 350kW, which means very quick pit stops.
Inside it feels properly high-end. You get 20-way seats with seated heats, massage, and a massive screen. It is big, fast, slightly unnecessary, and wildly impressive. Not bad for a Lotus.
