Mercedes AMG EQE 53 SUV NZ Review

This Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 SUV is bigger than Jason Momoa, faster than Usain Bolt, and cleaner than a nun’s browser history. Price tag? A casual $200k, but you get 460 kW, nearly 1,000 Nm torque, 0–100 km/h in 3.7 sec, and a 2.7-ton barge that somehow corners like a sports car thanks to four-wheel steering. The 90.5 kWh battery claims 470 km range, and yes, it’s climate positive if you plug into the right juice.

Inside, it’s Nappa leather heaven, heated & cooled AMG seats, panoramic roof, and the Mercedes-Benz MBUX Hyperscreen: three huge screens under one sheet of glass that make you feel like you’re piloting the Starship Enterprise. Tech includes digital light projection, one-pedal regen driving, AMG steering wheel with performance controls, wireless charging, and a Burmester 3D sound system so crisp it makes chips sound gourmet.

Comfort mode = Lazy Boy on wheels, Sport Plus = angry German rocket. Can tow 1.6 tons, corner like a sports car, float over bumps most of the time, but still… it’s 2.7 tons, and getting out gracefully is an Olympic event thanks to massive sills. Styling? Polarizing. Some say Mr. Blobby, others… eh, maybe future classic.

Verdict: luxury, tech, power, and absurd fun in one enormous, zero-emissions package. Pull up in this, and Leafs suddenly look like golf carts.
