I got to review a new EV which has just hit the streets: it’s the new SsangYong Korando e-Motion and it looks like it’s ready to make a big impact on New Zealand’s affordable, electric, family car segment.
As a vehicle, it’s ideal for families with its main draw cards being loads of space and surprising comfort. And despite its serious (boring?) looks, it’s actually a fairly playful car with plenty of gadgets and a wealth of music and sounds built-in.
As for specs, it has a 140 kW motor with 360 Nm of torque driving its front wheels, and a range of 339 kilometres per charge. Speaking of which, a charge from 20% to 80% will take 30 minutes, with the Korando e-Motion drinking electrons at 75 kW peak.
